OVERVIEW

Research and Development (R & D) is considered a pivotal element towards the achievement of Saudi Arabia Vision 2030, which is incorporated in having Saudi Arabia among the best 10 countries on the international index of competitiveness by 2030. To this aim, Ministry of Education, in pursuit of providing open-ended support to R & D in the country, has supported several universities and further collaborated with other stakeholders and partners within R & D Organization to provide a large number of prospective initiatives. Moreover, the University has sought after setting up a dedicated department for supporting R & D initiatives – a department affiliated to the University Agency for Higher/Postgraduate Studies and Academic Research – aiming to develop academic performance and research efforts in the University. It further aims to coordinate communication channels between the university and its competent bodies on one hand with the Ministry of Education and both private and public sectors on the other to manage and implement R & D Initiatives in a fashion that could achieve the intended objectives.
